Lake Lanier, Georgia

This is a satellite picture of Lake Lanier in Georgia. This is a man-made lake built by blocking the Chattahoochee River with a large dam over 300 feet tall. The reservoir provides fresh, clean drinking water for residence of Atlanta-Metro area. Also the water can be used for agricultural use and industry purposes.
However, evaporation sucks almost as much water out of the reservoir as the city of Atlanta uses.
